UPDATE

Hi everyone. This is where things stand today. The sealant was applied to the old section of the spring box on Saturday, Feb 2nd. Because of a miscommunication, sealant of the NEW concrete was not included in the original bid. We received an additional bid for the sealant of the NEW section of concrete and the sealant was applied on Friday, Feb 8th.
Our System Operator, David, entered the spring box last week to start the chlorination process. However, he found that there is still water that is entering the spring box under the new concrete wall that was poured, so the chlorination process is hold until that problem can be resolved.
We also found a couple other problem areas that needed to be resealed. There was also an issue with a plastic “vapor barrier” that was sandwiched between the old concrete and the new concrete when it was poured.
The engineer has been notified of these problems with the new concrete and is currently working on a solution. We will know more in a few days. As soon as we have answers you will know.
This is very disappointing. How could there be a “miscommunication” about an important part of this project? No one seems to be concerned in proportion with the problem. Oak Grove Water members are tired of boiling water and tired of these excuses.
We agree 100% with Mr. Annala. The apparent lack of concern on the part of Oak Grove Water District to get this problem fixed in an efficient manner is very concerning. E.Coli is incredibly dangerous and there can be no excuses for why this issue has not be resolved.
